"My kids had the best time ever!"

We had another fun day together as a community on the recreation ground opposite our shop. Over 300 people enjoyed a day of sunshine, rides, games and activities. This is the fifth time we have run this event in partnership with other local organisations and churches. It felt extra special this year as Covid-19 forced us to cancel in 2020.

There was an inflatable slide and a ride for the children which were free of charge all afternoon. Parents are very grateful not to have to search for coins and it’s wonderful that there is no limit for the children. There was a craft tent, face painting, temporary tattoos, cupcake decorating, and a storytime tent too. Leatherhead Youth Project organised games such as frisbee and football and families brought a picnic. August is always a risky month regards to weather (as is any month!) but we had glorious sunshine all day.

It’s always a treat to be able to provide all the children with free ice cream and we hope to be able to provide the same for adults at future events!
